Queen of Hearts

I love this character makeup as it is very bold & vibrant, I love the contrast between colours and how this creates an overall eccentric looking character. I would start by using white facepaint, cover the whole face to the hairline, then use an aqua blue to create the eye makeup, ensure to cover the original brows and take the colour a couple of centimetres above the original brow. Here I would create a false thin, curved brow. I would then add a false beauty spot to the left cheekbone, this could be done by either using black facepaint or an eyeliner pencil, both would work. Then, onto the lips, simply create a perfect red heart in the centre of the lips. Finally, to complete the look I would add black mascara to both the upper & lower lashes.

 When I think of Fantasy Makeup I always think of Tim Burtons Alice in Wonderland

Mad Hatter

I would start off with using either white aquacolour or supracolour for the base makeup, cover the complete face, I would then move up and start with the eyemakeup. I would use an aqua blue on the upper eyelids and take it up to the brow and then use a bright pink under the eye bringing it down just above the cheekbone. I would also use the pink on either side of the nose. I would use a white mascara for the eyes and cover both upper and lower lashes. To complete the eyes I would use artificial hair pieces for the eyebrows. For the cheekbones I would simply use a rose coloured blusher, add to the area under the cheekbone and bring it down on both sides. To finish the look I would use a pink lipstick for the lips.

The Joker



The Joker always stands out for me when I think of fantasy makeup in films, I like the fact that there isn't much involved in the process of creating the makeup but nevertheless it never fails to make an impression. This makeup in my own opinion is pretty easy to achieve, either way you would use a basic white either supracolour or aquacolour for the base coat, remember to cover the eyebrows as The Jokers are not visible, then use black around the eyes covering the brow bone, smudge underneath. For the lips use a basic bright red colour, fully cover the lips and then bring up each side of the mouth, a prosthetic can be used underneath for the scar effect, once complete we have the famous joker smile. For a more worn effect pictured above, all areas of the makeup can be smudged.
